Singing to Support Parkinsons UK

Magenta are once again proud to have been part of a lovely fundraising event in aid of Parkinson’s UK. The Birmingham Christmas fundraising concert (http://www NULL.parkinsons NULL.org NULL.uk/content/candlelit-concert-birmingham)took place in St Philips Cathedral on Wednesday 2nd of December. Magenta were one of a number of musical acts performing on the night including the Parkinson’s Choir from Leicestershire and Anvil Chorus (http://www NULL.anvilchorus NULL.uk/) from Great Barr.
We made quite a statement in our black and magenta outfits. St Philips is a marvellous venue to sing in and the short five song set demonstrated the variety of styles we have in our repertoire. Four of the songs were from our Christmas selection but we also included Price Tag by Jessie J as this is a good reflection of the true meaning of Christmas.
All the choir enjoyed the evening particularly our newer members who were singing in the cathedral for the first time. We always like to receive feedback for performances and was particularly pleased with the praise from the organiser Sarah Wakeman here who said, “I absolutely loved having you as part of our concert and your presence adds a very professional touch to the event. Not only do you sound amazing you have such a sparkle.”
Hopefully we will be invited back to sing for them again next year. This years event raised around £2000 for Parkinson’s UK.
